Conferences and events
The ETB works in partnership with a number of organisations to ensure our activities fully reflect the needs of the science, engineering, and technology (SET) community.
In 2006 we held our first annual skills conference. The event was well attended by over 150 education and skills stakeholders. Presentations from a number of parties, including our co-sponsors the Association of Colleges and the Learning and Skills Council, explored the current state of play
within vocational education and the need for greater numbers of Level 3 to 5 skills. For further details click here
We also will be running a number of regional seminars over 2007, on 'ETB Regional Mapping & Implications for the needs of the Further Education sector' and one on 'Technician Supply and Demand'.
With the Institute of Physics, Royal Society of Chemistry, and the Institute
of Biology we attend Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) careers events, promoting the value of continuing education in SET to
young people, teachers and careers advisors.
